Two conventions and nothing to be said.
Well July 2016 is done with and the last two weeks have been a bit odd. First we had the RNC (Republican National Convention) Where Donal Trump accepted the Republican nomination to run for President of the United States. Then we had the DNC (Democratic National Convention) where Hillary Clinton accepted her party’s nomination to run for the same office.
The two biggest stories to come out from each convention had little to nothing to do with the nominees but one dealt with Trump’s wife, Melania and the second dealt with hacked emails of the DNC. Wrapping these up quickly we had Melania Trump give a speech at the RNC which was partially plagiarized. While the hacked emails of the DNC showed the public how the DNC was actively working against The Bernie Sanders primary campaign while running against Clinton trying to receive the party’s nomination.
So how did Sanders respond to the news about these emails? By giving his supporters the most affordable education lesson in selling out $27 could buy, by endorsing Clinton. *ahem* Sellout.
Now we are left with these two nominees. Both of who don’t seem much in favor of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 10th amendments to the Constitution in the Bill of Rights. We now have two authoritarians that have now found themselves as two of the most least liked people in recent American history. Billions of dollars will be spent to find out which person we as a nation dislike a little bit less. ‘Murica!
Facing this delemia many would like to believe that we would not vote for one of these two people, unfortunately one of these losers will be elected to the highest office in the nation. The ‘third’ option is hardly being explored by most people though polls often cite how many people would consider a third option. The American voting public seems to have been tricked again by the two party system leaving me to wonder if it will ever change. I can hope right….
So for another election cycle I find myself left with writing someone in or voting for a third party candidate as I do refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils, which makes it hard for me to vote for the lesser of three evils. Supporting a third party candidate who I won’t vote for may not make a lot of sense to most people, as it doesn’t make much to me. This coming November though I do believe we will have our nations first female president elected. So far whatever it’s worth, I figure a female war monger is something we haven’t seen in a while.
