The hypocrisy on ‘both’ sides right now.
The hypocrisy on ‘both’ sides right now.
Being a libertarian can be tough, in short, pretty much half your friends are liberals and the other half are conservatives with very few being libertarian in nature… but we roll on. That said it is upon us to try and recruit and win converts. Lately though it has become very difficult to do so. One might think it would be easier as more and more people are becoming frustrated by what is happening in the world of politics to recruit people but that simply isn’t the case. Those on the left and right, as it were, are no becoming more entrenched in their ideology and even resorting to more and more violence at this time. These past few weeks under the new US President have proven how hypocritical both sides are. Those that now care about people from certain nations being banned from travel didn’t seem to care at all two months ago when those same people were being bombed by our government. On the right, those that for the last 8 years were up in arms against any executive order that President Obama made and called em all tyrannical are now all silent and actually celebrating those signed by President Trump.
This post is not intended to be a “look I’m right!” kinda deal, though it feels good to be able to say that often, but more about how do we improve our messaging? I wish I could say that I were that great at spreading the message but I’m not as good at it as I would like to be, heck I’m probably pretty crappy at it. “Winning” arguments on facebook doesn’t always translate into great way to spread the message. Yes some might see it and it might spark their interest but we need more effective ways to do this. Better methods on how to spread the message and win converts will be discussed in next weeks post…. Now would be the time for a great ‘sign off’ but I don’t have one yet…. Maybe that will come about next week as well.
