CNN is at it Again While Austin runs with the GOP

Hello there readers and welcome back! We here at CBL hope you had a great Independence Day and were able to spend it with people you would have wanted to. And for those that this may be your first time here we want to extend a special welcome to you!

The news this last week has seemed to circulate around CNN and well, the current disaster that is going on over there. A summary of what happened, CNN retracted a few stories on the Russia-Trump link and a few writers either were let go or left on their own accord. Shortly after that a video was released of a producer of a CNN producer saying that the ‘Russia-Trump link’ story was for nothing but ratings and there was nothing there, no evidence. President Trump quickly jumped on these two recent developments, feeling vindicated in some way I’m sure, and went to Twitter with a GIF. In this GIF we see a clip of when President Trump was on WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) beating someone up. This person that was being beat up had the CNN logo plastered over their face to make it look like President Trump was beating up CNN. Then the real fun began, many media outlets ran with this saying that the president was calling for violence against them and one talking head literally said that they expect a member of the media to be killed soon and that the blood would be on President Trump’s hands. Yeah…. That happened. Most people didn’t buy into the hysteria that the media was pushing and in a bold stupid move CNN this morning threatened to blackmail the creator of the GIF, a Reddit contributor. The Reddit user’s true identity wasn’t released by CNN but in their article about the situation it made it sound that the only reason that the information wasn’t happened to be because the Reddit user apologized and that if this changed they have the right to release his private information. Good job CNN, you messed up again and made yourself look that much worse. As Julian Assange said earlier, “When Trump goes low, CNN goes lower….” I am not often left a bit dumbfounded…. But here we are, in a land where the President can send the entire media into a frenzy in less than 150 characters. So much of a frenzy that a news outlet will blackmail people. Isn’t it great to be alive?!

All joking aside I have some great news for those liberty lovers out there!! Our good friend in liberty, Austin Petersen is running for US Senate in the state of Missouri. This is simply great! Austin seems like a man of principle and one that knows how to market himself and the message of liberty very well. He is the best guy for the job out there in Missouri but of course there has to be some issue right?! Austin is running as a Republican not a Libertarian. Austin tried to secure the Libertarian Party’s nomination for US President last go round and lost out to Gov. Gary Johnson. Now switching parties has upset some people out there. But here at Coffee Break Liberty, we have no issue with the party switch! Here we are people of principle not party. If the person has the right principles I don’t care what letter they attach to their name for party affiliation. If that person’s guiding life principles incorporate liberty as a supporting pillar in their life than they are a friend to us and we them. Austin Petersen is a man that believes in liberty and as far as we can tell tries to live is life in a manner that supports this idea. We have a friend in Missouri and hopefully in the not to distant future a US Senator too.

Thank you reading and please don’t forget to like and share!

Keep that coffee warm for us.
