It’s Theft Season Again

Hello there again readers and welcome back to Coffee Break Liberty, a blog where we tackle books, news and many other things under the sun where liberty is a guiding principle. April 15^th is fast approaching and we all know what that means!!! Spring break is soon!!!…. Oh and also taxes are due. It’s during this time of year we are reminded that around 30% of our labor actually belongs to someone else. That if it weren’t for the government’s monopoly on violence that the collection of taxes would be far different. We as a nation waste hundreds of millions of labor hours trying to figure out what we owe the government and billions of dollars are also wasted on trying to figure it out too. It is then with these taxes that the government then uses the monies collected to wage war in far away nations, limit our liberty, waste it in bureaucracy and all around use it for nearly nothing the private sector can’t handle. The morality that many will try to veil taxation in is that the money is used for good….who determines that?! A congress bought off by corporations and special interest groups now decides what the money taken from us by force should be used for… as long as it is for “good”. What isn’t moral is the concept of taking what isn’t yours. What is immoral is asking the government to steal on your behalf because you can’t think of another way for certain services to be paid for. Not only is it immoral to do that but also lazy, physically and intellectually too. Taxation is theft, it is the threat of violence against a person and or their property so that the government can take what they want. There are other ways to pay for things in this world yet we as a society have taken the lazy and immoral way out and decided the government taxation approach would be the best way to do it. For example, ever seen a toll road? A road paid for by those that use it… what a concept. #taxationistheft
