Taxation is Worse than Theft
Hello there again readers and welcome back to Coffee Break Liberty, a blog where we tackle books, news and many other things under the sun where liberty is a guiding principle. If this is your first time here we would like to extend a special warm welcome to you and hope you enjoy yourself while here.
If you are in the liberty movement this is something you already know, taxation is theft. Us here at CBL though see it as something worse. Theft is a violation of someone’s property rights but theft doesn’t always require a threat of violence. That is what makes taxation worse than theft, taxation is always performed under the threat of violence. It is with these threats of violence that the failures in our society shine through. If their ideas were so good they wouldn’t require violence to carry them out. Many will claim things like, who will build the roads, clean water will be gone or how will kids be “educated”. All of these aren’t even valid as they can all be paid for through charitable means and don’t require the government at all. What makes it worse though is that people still think that those excuses given are justification for your neighbor to have gun put to their head! When us in the liberty movement say things like “taxation is theft” or something along those lines and are then attacked for it on some sort of moral ground just remember, it is those attacking you that can’t think of another way to provide services to someone without the threat of violence. It is them with the moral failing, not us.
That about wraps this post up but a little update here from us at CBL. Looks like HQ might be moving again here within the next 3-4 months. We might still be in TX or we might not.
